OBX Select Wrestling Club

Wrestler In the Spotlight

Josiah Derby is invited to become a member of the south Tidewater area People to People Sports Ambassador Programs delegation to Holland.

Student-athletes are invited from national sports organizations or nominated by People to People coaches, leaders and alumni. As a member of the delegation, Josiah will have the opportunity to improve as an athlete, compete internationally in the Youth Friendship Games, and gain a better understanding of the world.

The preparation for the Youth Friendship Game is extensive. As a Sports Ambassador participating in the Youth Friendship Games he will achieve personal growth, interact with coaches and athletes from around the world, experience different cultures and famous places in Holland and will compete internationally.

By participating as a member of a wrestling team made up of athletes from across the country, Josiah will build athletic skills, discover another part of the world, and become friends with athletes from across the globe. Josiah will spend two days in a skills training camp before taking part in a USA Wrestling-sanctioned event. He will be participating in a 22-year tradition of international youth competition in Holland and joining fellow athletes to promote peace through understanding envisioned by People to People founder, President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

The OBX Select Wrestling Club is very proud of Josiah Derby and we wish him the best.
